A word from the President of the Polish Women’s Federation in Canada

The year 2024 is coming to an end and presents a usual combination of diverse events. Living in Canada we do not experience and oppression or devastation of war which lead to the death of many civilians and especially women and children while the world remains helpless. We Polish women have always been sensitive to injustice and respond to it emotionally but with hope that the situation will change for the better. As President of the Polish Canadian Women’s Federation, I have been in touch with individual Branches and have been aware of their commitment to social causes and their great successes in their work. The year 2023 is passing, a year that was full of destructive events and cataclysms in the world. Our hopes stem from the belief that there will be a time of normalization and positive changes. The country we live in gives us peace, the opportunity to study and good live conditions. We appreciate this, and organizations with a similar profile, such as the Federation of Polish Women in Canada, operating in charity, provide help to those who need it as a gift for given opportunities. I would like to thank all the members of our Federation for their empathy and dedication to help those in need and for their cultivation of the Polish culture in Canada. The members of our organization took part in many events celebrating Polish historical events, organized contests of Polish poetry and Polish music. It is very important that we instil the sense of pride of being Polish to our children and grandchildren. It is also our duty to pay respect to our friends who passed away.
